During
tonight's episode three contestants joined their brains with “Lady
Luck” to try and pull out a win on America's Game Show. As usual,
they started out the night with the first Toss-Up puzzle, worth
$1000, and it was an On The Map category.
Amy
Johnson, scored fairly early on with the correct answer of, The
Caribbean Sea. Amy is a regional sales manager for an industrial
lighting company out of Chicago. Kelley Healthann from Tuscon,
Arizona is a married mother of two, who writes a local column in the
local Tuscon newspaper. Last, but not least, is Richard Johnson, from
Kingstown, Rhode Island; Richard is quite the character. As a
licensed lay minister, singer-songwriter, and flower delivery man-
he's an “all-in-one act for weddings and funerals.” He also just
released his first album, and is looking forward to seeing it's
success.
Kelley
scored the second Toss Up in the Things category with, Brains And
Brawn. After the Toss Up, Jim-the announcer- told the contestants
about the Sandals trip that had been added to the wheel. A trip to a
Sandals resort of the winner's choice, worth $6700 dollars.
Landing
on a Bankrupt of her first wheel spin, Kelley passed the game to
Richard. With a Before and After puzzle on the board, Richard gave
the wheel a great spin. Richard was doing great, even buying up all
the vowels; until the letter L snuck up and took him out. Amy then
landed on a Lose a Turn piece to pass the game back to Kelley. After
a few spins, and some money on her board; Kelley was able to solve
the puzzle with, Chicken Stock Market.
The
next spin puzzle, a Showbiz category, was started by Richard, with
the big letter T. Losing his turn on the letter E, of which their
weren't any; Richard passed the game to Amy, who was anxious to get
started. Landing on the “always tricky,” Mystery game piece, Amy
decided not to risk it, enjoyed the $3000 she won, and kept the
mystery intact. Racking up over $5,000 on the puzzle, Amy was able to
solve it with, Pop Music Star Bruno Mars.
The
next puzzle, a Phrase, was also a prize puzzle-whoever solves the
puzzle wins a prize, which is usually a very nice trip. Amy started
spinning, and never stopped on this puzzle. She bought up all the
vowels, along with the consonants she needed to solve the puzzle
with, This Is Going To Make A Great Story. Along with the $3200
dollars she won on that round, she also won a fabulous trip to the
Turks and Caicos Islands.
The
third Toss Up round, worth $3000 dollars wen to, Kelley who was a
quick draw for the, In The Kitchen, puzzle. Kelley was then able to
spin first on the next puzzle, a What Are You Doing, category. She
was then promptly duped by a Bankrupt game piece. Richard was off to
a great start, until he tried to buy an O. The letter R, knocked Amy
out, as there were none. Kelley wasn't even warmed up yet, when she
landed on a Lose A Turn piece. Richard then got bumped by the letter
S. Amy was finally able to solve the tricky puzzle with, Meeting My
Deadline.
The
Final Spin bell gave it's ding, and Pat gave the wheel it's final
spin. Consonants instantly became worth, $1500 dollars. The Fun and
Games puzzle quickly went to Richard with, Touch Football. Going into
the bonus round, Amy had already racked up $20,399 dollars, and hoped
to add to her total.
Th
Bonus round was a Things category, but the R, S, T, L, N, and E;
along with the letter Amy chose, C, D, M, and A weren't much help
with solving the Hours Of Operation puzzle. She missed out on a nice
$30,000 dollars, but seemed okay with her original winnings.
