On tonight's episode of Wheel of
Fortune we're four days into resorts week. Each night a fabulous
Sandals resort trip is put on the board for one of the contestants to
snag, should the opportunity present itself. Tonight our first Toss
Up puzzle, a puzzle in which random letters are placed on the board
until a contestant solves the puzzle, was worth a nice $1000 dollars.
The On The Map puzzle was one word long, and Jarvis was the winner
with the correct answer of Barbados.
Jarvis Hagins from Edmond, Oklahoma is
an accountant back home. Molly Duncan from-Kansas City, Kansas, is an
R.N., on a med-tele unit back home. Cristina Livingston, from
Chilicante, Missouri is a business systems consultant for a major
financial institution, and enjoys adventure sports, reading and
cooking in her free time.
The next Toss Up, worth $2000, gives
the winner the first spin on the first round of puzzle play. The Food
and Drink puzzle was no match for Cristina who snagged it easily
with, French Press Coffee. Jim-the announcer-was also able to put the
$6700 dollar prize package to a Sandals resort in either Jamaica or
Turks and Caicos on the wheel for one lucky contestant.
Cristina started off well-on the first
spin puzzle (a Phrase), putting an S and an A on the board; before
she ran into that pesky Lose A Turn game piece. Jarvis was ready and
waiting though. Landing on the ½ Car symbol Jarvis was well on his
way to winning a brand new Chevy Spark. From there it just got
better, he spun his way to solving the puzzle with Let's Get The Ball
Rolling.
On the next puzzle Jarvis landed on the
newly placed, Mystery game piece-this piece allows the winner to
guess a letter at $1000/letter. You can then choose to keep it the
way it is, or take a chance that there might be $10,000 dollar under
that symbol. If there isn't though, you lose it all on a Bankrupt.
Jarvis guessed the letter N, of which there were none, so the Mystery
piece stayed on the board. On Molly's first go at the wheel, she was
able to snag a $1000 eBags gift certificate. Continuing her haul,
Molly also scored the Beaches resort game piece, as well as a ½ Car
piece and the Wild card piece. The nasty Lose A Turn piece popped up
to ruin Molly's streak, but Cristina was able to solve the puzzle
with Follow The Yellow Brick Road Hog, for this Before and After
puzzle.
For the next puzzle-which ended up
being a Prize puzzle-Place was the category. Molly started off slow
with the guess of an N, of which there were none. Cristina was on a
nice roll, before the Bankrupt piece got her. Jarvis took that
momentum, grabbed the million dollar game piece, as he was passing
by, and solved the puzzle with, West Of Haiti, South Of Cuba. He also
secured a great trip to Jamaica.
After the break it was time for the
third and final Toss Up puzzle of the night. Worth $3,000 the Thing
category was snatched up by, Cristina with the answer: Cold Hard
Cash. The Final Spin came up as the last puzzle was announced. The
People category puzzle had consonants worth a very nice, $1300
dollars. Molly was able to get on the board with $2600, Cristina as
well gathered $2600. Jarvis was the big winner by getting some cash,
and solving the puzzle: Like-Minded Individuals.
Going into the Bonus Round, Jarvis was
hoping to secure that million dollar prize piece all while solving
the puzzle and winning whatever card prize he was able to grab. The
thing puzzle was bent on keeping Jarvis at arm's length with the
usual, R, S, T, L, N, and E being very little help. His own letters
of C, M, G and O also not assisting him at all. The “Breezy Day,”
answer eluded Jarvis, but he was still able to walk away with $18,549
dollars.
