On this episode of Wheel of Fortune we
met three contestants that couldn't wait to find their fortune during
America's Game-show. The first Toss Up puzzle was an On The Map
category, where letters are randomly displayed until the puzzle is
solved. Jamey Sprawls was a quick draw on this puzzle solving the
Montego Bay, with just two letters on the board! Hailing from Evans,
Georgia; she runs a mobile cupcake truck which delivers her sweet
treats to customers, and then parks and lets the customers come to
her. Lauren Fairfax from Springfield Indiana is a stay-at-home Mom
with one little boy. John Downing, from San Diego, is a Lieutenant in
the United States Coast Guard.
The next Toss Up puzzle was worth
$2000, and was a Thing category. Lauren was the first to score by
solving the puzzle, A Round Of Applause. Beaches resorts sponsored a
prize package for the wheel worth a nice $6,700 dollars.
The first spin puzzle was a Song/Artist
category and Lauren had the first spin, because she won the last Toss
Up round. Her first spin landed her the ½ Car game piece, and her
first vowel netted her nothing, which passed the game to John. John
was on a roll, buying up all the possible vowels for the puzzle, when
an M letter guess cost him his turn. Jamey's first and only spin,
netted her a possible trip to any Beaches resort, like the beautiful
Turks and Cacos Islands. She was also able to solve the puzzle with,
Superstition By Stevie Wonder.
John started the next spin puzzle, a
Before and After puzzle with the letter T, for $300/piece; of which
there were two. John stumbled on the letter E, and passed the game to
Jamey. Her first spin proved to be a bust when she landed on the
Bankrupt game piece for the million dollar prize piece. Back to
Lauren's spin proved profitable when she landed on the mystery game
piece. This gave her a fifty-fifty shot of winning $10,000 or hitting
a bankrupt. She took the risk and got the $10,000 game piece.
Continuing her good fortune, Lauren spun her way to solving the
puzzle with Nonstop Flights Of Fancy.
Jamey was doing well, on the next
puzzle; a Phrase, with $450 dollars to add to her total when she hit
the dreaded Bankrupt piece, forcing her to start over and pass the
wheel on to Lauren. Lauren was doing well also, and managed to land
on the Express $1000. This game piece allows her to call out letters,
both consonants and vowels until she solves the puzzle. If she were
to miss a letter, however, it's an automatic Bankrupt. Going on to
rack up a stunning $13,800 to add to her already nice total, Lauren
solved the puzzle with I Can't Wipe The Smile Off My Face. After
spinning her way to well over $28,000 in cash and prizes, Lauren was
then awarded a great trip to the Bahamas! A trip worth, $7,199.
The last Toss Up puzzle; a category of
The 80's, was worth $3,000 dollars and John was able to solve the
puzzle quickly and efficiently with just four letters on the board.
The puzzle read: Pretty In Pink-a very popular move about growing up
during those all important, teenage years.
The final spin bell came with
consonants being worth $1900 a piece. Jamey was finally able to solve
the puzzle, Playing Simon Says, with relative ease, and with a nice
total of $14,900 dollars. John took home $3,000 and Lauren-who went
on to play the bonus round racked up an amazing $35,849 dollars.
The Bonus round puzzle for Lauren was a
Living Thing category and the letters R,S,T,L,N and E; plus the ones
she chose, C,P,M and O were of great help to Lauren. She went on to
solve the puzzle with Newborn Puppy, and score another $50,000
dollars, making her total $85,849 dollars!
