Wheel of Fortune Episode for 4/18/2014

Tonight's episode is the final show for the Resorts Week on Wheel of Fortune. As usual, we have three new contestants who are eager to pit their will and good luck against the wheel and hopefully come out a winner. The first Toss Up puzzle of the night, worth a nice $1000 dollars, and gives the contestants an equal shot at solving the puzzle. During a Toss Up puzzle, random letters are placed in the puzzle until a contestant is able to solve that particular puzzle. Three contestants, three guesses, none of them were right! The 'What Are You Doing' puzzle stumped them til the last, and won out.

During the “Get to know the contestants,” Fawn Lock was first up. Hailing from Henderson, Nevada; she is a market manager for a top hotel and tour resort. Michael Morris is from Pembroke Pines, Florida, and is a middle school guidance counselor. Brittany McGuire, our third and final contestant, is a substitute teacher from Humble (pronounced Umble) Texas. She hopes to be a full time art teacher next year.

The next Toss Up puzzle was a Food and Drink category, and the first person to score the cash was, Brittany. The Quiche Lorraine answer wasn't a match for out substitute teacher! This allowed Brittany to secure the first spin on the spin round which came up after an announcement from Jim. The wheel was getting a nice prize package from Sandals Resorts, which was worth, $6700 dollars.

Brittany landed right away on a ½ Car piece and was able to secure it, at least temporarily, with the letter T, for this The 80's, puzzle. Brittany was on a roll with this puzzle until the Lose A Turn took all her momentum. Fawn was up next, and passed the game right on to Michael with the guess of an S, of which there weren't any. This also made her miss out on that Sandals vacation that had been added to the board. Michael was doing fantastically, even landing on the coveted Million Dollar prize. However, sometimes, choosing to spin instead of solving the puzzle can prove disastrous. Which it did in Michael’s case, landing him on a Bankrupt. Brittany was able to collect a little cash and a Wild Card; before solving the puzzle with, Hungry Like The Wolf By Duran Duran.

The next spin puzzle was a Before and After. Fawn was the first one to spin for this puzzle. Guessing the letter T on an $800 dollar piece it looked as if Fawn was going to make a go of it, until the Bankrupt caught her by surprise! Micheal took the next spin, only to lose it with the sneaky, Lose A Turn game piece. Brittany was doing well, buying vowels left and right, until the nasty Bankrupt sneaked up again, which cost her the ½ Car piece and the Wild Card. Fawn's next turn ended quickly with a Lose A Turn spin, and Micheal was able to win a little cash, a $1000 gift card to Maui Jim, and solve the puzzle. The Before and After puzzle read: Social Butterfly Collection.

The next puzzle, a Phrase, was also a prize puzzle. The prize, a fabulous trip to the Bahamas, was sponsored by Sandals Resorts. Michael got the ball rolling with the letter T. On his next spin he landed on the the $1,000 Express, guessing the letter D; he decided to try for the Express “Train” and see how much money he could win. Michael was doing well, until he guessed the letter S, and it cost him a Bankrupt in the end. Brittany was able to take advantage of Michael's misfortune, and spin her way to solving the puzzle, gaining some cash and getting the ½ Car piece. The puzzle answer read: Pinch Me I Think I'm Dreaming. Brittany was also able to secure that great trip from the prize puzzle along with $2750 to add to her total.

The third and final Toss Up was all about Living Things, and Fawn, was eager to solve this puzzle with, Baby's Breath. The Final Spin bell dinged when the last puzzle appeared. A Thing category, consonants were worth $1900 dollars. Fawn and Michael were both able to score some cash on the deal, until Brittany solved the puzzle with Lifetime Guarantees. Her $5700 added to her previous total made her the Wheel of Fortune winner for today's show. Going into the bonus round, Brittanie had a nice $20,599 dollars to her name. The Phrase puzzle started with the usual R, S, T, L, N, and E letters, adding M, B, P, and I to the stack from Brittany. However, the puzzle, with neither words starting letter was a difficult one and proved to be more than Brittany could handle. Downright Hilarious, was anything but funny to Brittany, who forfeited a EOS Convertible. However, she did seem extremely happy about her nice stash of cash!
