On tonight's episode of America's Game
Show, three handsome contestants tried their hands at spinning their
way to good fortune. As is usual for this game the first Toss Up
puzzle was worth $1000 and each contestant had an opportunity to grab
the cash as the puzzle was given to all of them. The phrase puzzle
barely had a letter on the board before Brian Ruthersfield, from
Bruin Connecticut, was able to solve it with, America's Game. The
next contestant one, Sterling August III, from Washington D.C., is an
investigator for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Sam Cedarbalm
rounded out the three man trio of contestants. Hailing from Johnson,
Rhode Island, Sam is a school principal.
The next Toss Up was a Song Lyrics
puzzle and gave Brian-who was on fire for the Toss Ups- the chance to
spin first when it was time. As usual, Jim was ready to give away
another trip to Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada that offered a
prize package worth $7500 to anyone lucky enough to land on that
symbol.
Brian spun first on the 90's category
puzzle. With one massive spin for $7500 ($2500 for every R that Brian
guessed) he was then able to solve the puzzle with Robin Williams As
Mrs. Doubtfire. After the break we came back to see if either of the
other contestants could get their hands on any cash and prizes.
The Same Letter puzzle (in which all
three words start with the same letter) was up next and Sterling got
us started. Sterling did great guessing the letter N and buying the E
vowel. His next guess though turned up a dud and passed the game on
to Sam. Sam was doing great, even landing on the Mystery $1000 dollar
game piece. Taking the risk, Sam turned the Mystery card over, only
to reveal a Bankrupt sign. After one spin that netted him a trip to
Las Vegas, should he win; Brian solved the puzzle with Personalized
Plush Pillows.
The next puzzle was a Prize puzzle, and
was a Living Thing category. Sam got off to a great start but guessed
a letter that wasn't on the board, which turned the puzzle over to
Brian. Brian in turn bought up all the vowels and enough consonants
to solve the puzzle with: Lush Jungle Vegetation. Brian also won a
trip to the Dominican Republic that was worth $7609 dollars.
The last Toss Up puzzle went to Brian
again, for $3000. He solved the Movie Quote puzzle with Wax On, Wax
Off. The next puzzle also went to Brian with Setting a World Record.
The last puzzle was a Landmark puzzle and consonants were
automatically worth $1900 because it was the Final Spin puzzle. Sam
was finally able to solve this last puzzle with Rockefeller Center to
take home a nice $9500. Sterling was given a $1000 for his attendance
and Brian headed to the Bonus round with over $37000 in cash and
prizes include the trips to Las Vegas and the Dominican Republic.
With the usual letter helpers of R, S,
T, L, N, and E as well as M, C, P, and A from Brian; he wasn't able
to solve the Thing puzzle of Bike Pump. For that he lost out on
adding $30,000 to his total. However, walking away with $37, 059
dollars, I don't think he was disappointed.
