Wheel of Fortune Episode for 5/3/2014

On tonight's episode of Wheel of Fortune, three new contestants try out their lucky hands at winning some great cash and prizes. As is usual, the first Toss Up puzzle, in which random letters are tossed out until a contestant is able to solve the puzzle, was worth $1000. Kurt Davies, is an exercise equipment salesman from Fort Collins, Colorado-who also coaches high school track and is a professional pole valter, was the first to grab this puzzle with Amusement Park Rides. Kiesha Daniel, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was able to score the second Toss Up, a Title puzzle, for $2000, with Sports Illustrated, and B.J. Is from Nashville Tennessee and he is both an insurance salesman and a solo Southern gospel artist. He was also very eager to let the eligible ladies in the audience know that he is single.

Jim, the announcer, added a Jackpot space to the wheel, which was a very nice addition, and also added a wonderful trip to San Francisco, worth $5200 dollars, to sweeten the wheel even more. Kiesha then got started off nicely, winning the ½ Car piece, putting some nice letters on the board and buying up some vowels before the dreaded Lose A Turn space took her turn. Kurt was up next, but barely got started before the letter R took his turn by not showing up on the board. B.J., was eager to take his turn and for good reason. His second spin into the puzzle he landed on the Jackpot space. Guessing the letter C, he was able to solve the puzzle and take the $9000 that sat under that jackpot space. The puzzle read: A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing.

The next spin puzzle was a Before & After puzzle which Kurt was able to get started. He was doing just fine, until the letter L came up to end his turn. B.J., also got a good start, adding more letters to the board before the letter U snagged him. However, he was on the Free Play space which allowed him to spin again and guess another letter. Unfortunately the letter W also wasn't on the board so the game passed to Kiesha. Kiesha guessed the letter C, bought the last vowel, O and solved the puzzle with, Skating On Thin Ice Cream Cake.

On the next Song Lyrics puzzle, B.J., got things started nicely; buying up vowels and guessing letters. Then the dreaded abyss of the Bankrupt symbol took him out and passed the game on to Kiesha. She was able to solve the puzzle with, I Believe It's Time For Me To Fly. For her efforts and prowess, she won herself a trip to Puerto Rico, worth $5700 dollars.

Going into the last Toss Up puzzle for $3,000 B.J. Trailed Keisha by less than $1400. He was able to grab the Thing puzzle with Desk Calendar, which boosted him into the lead.

He started the last and final What Are You Doing? puzzle nicely, buying vowels and guessing letters, until Pat had to give the wheel it's final spin. Consonants became instant cash bombs worth $1500 a piece and the puzzle was up for anyone to solve. Kiesha was finally able to nail this last puzzle with Fanning The Flames to add another $1500 to her total. However, B.J., beat her to the Final Round by $150 dollars!

Along with the usual characters: R, S, T, L, N, and E; B.J., added C, D, M and A. His letters didn't give any help and the normal letters barely showed up. Unfortunately, with not much to work with B.J., wasn't able to solve the Thing puzzle. The Violin Bow puzzle stayed out of reach and cost B.J., the $40,000 dollar prize he'd pulled from the bonus wheel.

Wheel of Fortune Episode for 5/2/2014

On tonight's episode of America's Game Show, three handsome contestants tried their hands at spinning their way to good fortune. As is usual for this game the first Toss Up puzzle was worth $1000 and each contestant had an opportunity to grab the cash as the puzzle was given to all of them. The phrase puzzle barely had a letter on the board before Brian Ruthersfield, from Bruin Connecticut, was able to solve it with, America's Game. The next contestant one, Sterling August III, from Washington D.C., is an investigator for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Sam Cedarbalm rounded out the three man trio of contestants. Hailing from Johnson, Rhode Island, Sam is a school principal.

The next Toss Up was a Song Lyrics puzzle and gave Brian-who was on fire for the Toss Ups- the chance to spin first when it was time. As usual, Jim was ready to give away another trip to Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada that offered a prize package worth $7500 to anyone lucky enough to land on that symbol.

Brian spun first on the 90's category puzzle. With one massive spin for $7500 ($2500 for every R that Brian guessed) he was then able to solve the puzzle with Robin Williams As Mrs. Doubtfire. After the break we came back to see if either of the other contestants could get their hands on any cash and prizes.

The Same Letter puzzle (in which all three words start with the same letter) was up next and Sterling got us started. Sterling did great guessing the letter N and buying the E vowel. His next guess though turned up a dud and passed the game on to Sam. Sam was doing great, even landing on the Mystery $1000 dollar game piece. Taking the risk, Sam turned the Mystery card over, only to reveal a Bankrupt sign. After one spin that netted him a trip to Las Vegas, should he win; Brian solved the puzzle with Personalized Plush Pillows.

The next puzzle was a Prize puzzle, and was a Living Thing category. Sam got off to a great start but guessed a letter that wasn't on the board, which turned the puzzle over to Brian. Brian in turn bought up all the vowels and enough consonants to solve the puzzle with: Lush Jungle Vegetation. Brian also won a trip to the Dominican Republic that was worth $7609 dollars.

The last Toss Up puzzle went to Brian again, for $3000. He solved the Movie Quote puzzle with Wax On, Wax Off. The next puzzle also went to Brian with Setting a World Record. The last puzzle was a Landmark puzzle and consonants were automatically worth $1900 because it was the Final Spin puzzle. Sam was finally able to solve this last puzzle with Rockefeller Center to take home a nice $9500. Sterling was given a $1000 for his attendance and Brian headed to the Bonus round with over $37000 in cash and prizes include the trips to Las Vegas and the Dominican Republic.

With the usual letter helpers of R, S, T, L, N, and E as well as M, C, P, and A from Brian; he wasn't able to solve the Thing puzzle of Bike Pump. For that he lost out on adding $30,000 to his total. However, walking away with $37, 059 dollars, I don't think he was disappointed.

Wheel of Fortune Episode for 5/1/2014

On tonight's episode of America's Game Show, Wheel of Fortune, three new contestants take on the wheel to win fortunes they can take home. As is usual for this game, the first Toss Up puzzle, in which random letters are thrown out until the puzzle is solved, was worth $1000. The Phrase puzzle, You Heard It Here First, went to Moe Johnson from Missouri. Steve Michaels, who is also from Missouri, is a firefighter for the city of Kansas City, MO. Last but not least we met, Shannon Harget from Virginia-who is a competitive ice skater and an accountant.

The next Toss Up, worth $2000 was an Around The House puzzle and it went to, Moe again, with Ceramic Dalmatian. Jim then came on and added a great prize package to the wheel for a wonderful trip to Las Vegas that ran a total worth $7500 dollars! Moe started off on fire, grabbing an N and two vowels; E and A. Just when she thought she'd land on a Bankrupt, she pulled out of it, but when she guessed the letter D there weren't any.

Steve was up next to give his turn a try at the big wheel, giving the Thing puzzle a go at it. Unfortunately the Bankrupt did come up to ruin his chances for his first turn. When it came to Shannon's turn, she was going to give that wheel all it was worth, and boy did it pay her back, her first spin was worth $2500 for each letter and she guessed T of which there were two. She then landed on the Caesar’s Palace trip which she gladly held on to. To top it all off, she was able to solve the puzzle with, Monumental Achievement.

The next spin puzzle was a The 90's puzzle and Steve started things off this time around. Steve was doing great, earning some cash and buying some vowels, until the letter R gave him some trouble and sent the puzzle on to Shannon. Shannon again had a great time picking up a ½ Car symbol, as well as a Caesar's Palace entertainment card worth $1000 dollars. Unfortunately the Lose A Turn piece stopped her short of solving the puzzle. However, Moe was glad to finally get another chance at a spin puzzle. After taking a modest risk on the Mystery game piece (a piece in which you can simply take the $1,000 dollars per correct letter, or risk it on the $10,000/Bankrupt sign on the back) Moe was glad to get the $10,000 and be able to solve the puzzle with Will Smith In Independence Day!

After the break the next spin puzzle was both an Event and a Prize puzzle. Shannon got things off to a hot start, getting both a ½ Car piece and the Million Dollar prize piece, before a Lose A Turn symbol jumped up to give the puzzle to Moe. Moe was off to a good start, before buying an O cost her another turn and passed the game on to Steve. Steve was finally able to get into the game big time when he landed on the $3500 dollar piece. Guessing the letter T he was able to quickly catch Moe and Shannon, and was also able to solve the puzzle with, Private Dining Under The Stars. Solving the prize puzzle also got Steve a wonderful trip to Maui, worth $7,099 dollars!

Coming back from the break brought on the last of the Toss Up puzzles worth, $3000 dollars. Moe was first on the buzzer again with Candy Shop to score the nice addition to her already impressive $13,900. This round of Wheel of Fortune was a true contest for sure!

The next Fun & Games spin puzzle started off great with Moe, until the black abyss of the Bankrupt sign took it all away, passing the puzzle on to Steve. Steve was able to get the letter G in before the Final Spin bell sounded. Consonants became worth $1800 dollars a piece and the puzzle became anyone's to win. Steve got the letter T put up before Shannon was able to guess the letter C and solve the puzzle with Scoring The Winning Goal. Although she finished in third place, Shannon was overjoyed to take home a trip to Las Vegas, as well as, $15, 850 dollars! Moe took home another impressive number with $16,900. But Steve, who was shut out the first part of the game, was the big winner with $17, 349 dollars to take on the Bonus Round.

With help from the regular R, S, T, L, N, and E; Steve was able to solve the puzzle before he ever added his own letters of V, F, Z and O. The firefighter from Kansas City was able to solve the Thing puzzle with, Valiant Effort. For his Valiant Effort he took home an additional $30,000 dollars.

Wheel of Fortune Episode for 4/29/2014

On America's Game Show tonight, we met three contestants who were feeling lucky enough to pit their version of “Lady Luck,” against the mighty Wheel to see who'd come out the victor. As is traditional, the first Toss Up puzzle is given first. It's worth $1000 dollars and is the first chance the contestants have to sink their teeth into some cash. Tossing out random letters until the puzzle it solved, tonight the Phrase category puzzle went to, Andre Coldwell from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, who quickly solve it with; History In The Making. Summer Briselle from Boise, Idaho and Jennifer Jackson from Norman, Oklahoma, were both hoping to add to their totals much the same way that Andre did.

The next Toss Up, worth $2000, was an Around The House category, and helped to determine who got to go first in the initial Spin puzzle. Jennifer scored quickly with the Sectional Sofa answer. At this point in the game Jim-The Announcer-always has something wonderful to add to the wheel to make it that much sweeter. The trip to Ceaser's Palace in Las Vegas Nevada was worth a hefty, $7500 dollars.

Jennifer got the first go round on the 80's category spin puzzle. Guessing an S and buying an E, Jennifer was excited about the possibility of getting the ½ Car piece she'd landed on, but guessed the letter T and had to pass the game on to Andre. Andre also got two spins. He guess the letter R and bought the vowel A, before the retched Lose A Turn reached up to bite him. Much like the two previous players, Summer guessed the letter N and bought the vowel I. Her third guess of D passed the game right back to Jennifer as there were no D's to be had. Jennifer finally had a bout of luck by landing on the $2500 dollar space and guessing the letter G. She then went on to solve the puzzle with; Solving A Rubik's Cube.

The next puzzle was a Food & Drink category and had enough letters for everyone to get in on the action! Andre was doing swimmingly picking up a Wild Card and the Mystery prize piece to reveal a very nice $10,000 dollars on the reverse side. However, when he went to solve the puzzle he misspoke and was not able to claim the prize for the solve. Summer was ready and waiting, and after a few spins to earn some money; she lost it all on the dreaded Bankrupt piece. After two spins to earn some cash, Jennifer was able to solve the puzzle with: Chocolate Sundae With A Cherry On Top. Andre had said, Chocolate Shake With A Cherry On Top.

The next spin puzzle was all about Landmarks. Summer landed on the free play and was able to go again after guessing a letter that wasn't on the board. Her second spin landed her on the Express train $1000 dollar game piece and she hopped on for the ride, gaining a thousand dollars for every correct consonant that she got right. Working her way slowly through one letter after another Summer was able to eventually solve the puzzle with, Big Ben And The Eiffel Tower; and she racked up a very nice $13,250 dollars while she was at it. Because Summer was working on a Prize Puzzle, she won trips to both London and Paris to see “Big Ben and The Eiffel Tower.” Her dual trip was worth an amazing $11,197 dollars.

After the break the last Toss Up of the game, worth a steady $3000 was put up for the contestants to work out. The Fun & Games puzzle was quickly solved by Andre with, Donkey Kong. The last puzzle popped up on the board and Pat gave the wheel it's notorious Final Spin. Consonants became $1700 dollar wads of cash and each contestant was allowed 3 seconds to solve the puzzle after each of their letter guesses. With the letter B, Jennifer was able to solve the last puzzle, but it wasn't enough to catch Summer who was overjoyed to be going to the Bonus Round.

After spinning the “mini-wheel,” Summer took her place next to Pat for her Phrase puzzle. After working with the usual culprits: R, S, T, L, N, and E; Summer added: F, G, P and O for a little extra boost. Even with the great help from the combined letters, without the beginning letter of the first word, Summer wasn't able to add the extra $30,000 to her total. However, she seemed happy at the end to walk away with a nice $24, 447 dollars.

Wheel of Fortune Episode for 4/25/2014

On tonight's episode of America's Game Show, three new contestants took their chances on the wheel to see if they could be the Big Winner. The first Toss Up-an On The Map-puzzle was quickly solved. Jordan Muller from Richmond, Virginia, is a software sales representative, and on the weekend she moonlights as a bridal stylist. Michael Groover from San Juan Capistrano, is a performing arts student. Jen Eckland is a workaholic who has four jobs which range from first grade teacher to retail worker, to casino gal, to independent consultant.

The next Toss Up was worth a nice $2000 dollars, helps to determine who gets to go first in the initial spin round puzzle. The What Are You Doing puzzle went quickly to, Jordan, once letters started randomly showing up on the board. After the puzzle was done, Jim-the announcer- introduced a prize package based on the new Spider Man 2 that comes out in theaters Friday, May 2nd. The prize package is worth a hefty $7500 dollars.

Jordan started the first spin puzzle with a smile on her face. The In The Kitchen category gave a three word answer for the contestants to try and solve. Jordan's first spin out landed her on the million dollar/bankrupt piece, and she kept the momentum going with the letter R. Providing a bit of humor during her playing time, Jordan was able to spin her way through a ½ Car piece and earn some nice cash as well, before finally solving the puzzle with, Stainless Steel Colander.

Michael took his first turn with the wheel on the next, Same Letter puzzle. Michael was doing well, guessing the letters T and L, but when he got to the letter R, he was out of luck. Jen was up next for her first spin. Jen got stumped by a letter, and so did Jordan after her. Returning to Michael, he got himself the Wild Card by guessing the letter B, of which there were four. After guessing all the consonants in the puzzle, Michael was able to solve the puzzle with Blue Baby Booties.

Jen took her first solid punch at the next puzzle. Along with being a, Food and Drink puzzle it was also a Prize Puzzle, which is usually a fabulous trip to some exotic place. Michael was doing great, until the letter N showed up and knocked the game over the Jen. She was finally able to put some money on her board, before the Lose A Turn came up to bite her. When it came around to Jordan, she spun the wheel and landed on the Express piece. Giving her a $1000 dollars for every correct consonant she guessed, Jordan took the risk of a Bankrupt if she missed any. Lo and behold she was able to see the puzzle through and solved it with A Bowl Of Delicious Goulash. She added $7000 to her total for that one puzzle. She was also able to pick up a fabulous trip to Budapest, Hungary! The trip, worth $7699 was sponsored by Hotwire.com.

The next, and last Toss Up puzzle came after the commercial break. Worth $3000 dollars, all the contestants were hoping to snag this Thing puzzle. Jen was finally able to put up some solid cash on her board by solving the puzzle with, Spiral Staircase.

Per the usual course of things, the Final Spin bell gave a ding after the Toss Up, so Pat gave the wheel it's last spin for the night. This made the consonants worth $1500 dollars a piece and gave the contestants a chance to rack up the cash, during this Person puzzle.

Both Jen and Jordan gave attempts at solving the puzzle, but it was Michael who was finally able to solve it, after picking the letter N, with Cross-Country Runner.

Carrying her Million Dollar wedge and a nice $23, 649 dollars with her, Jordan entered the Bonus round in high spirits. After spinning the game wheel for her prize, Jordan took her place to work on the Person puzzle. With the help of the usual culprits; R, S, T, L, N and E, Jordan added her own letters. After picking C, D, M and O, Jordan wasn't so thrilled with only getting help from seven letters in her 18 letter puzzle. With no beginning letters for any of the three words, Jordan simply didn't have enough information to solve the Beauty Pageant Judge puzzle. But she seemed rather happy to have won her great trip and her already nice total.

Wheel of Fortune Episode for 4/24/2014

Tonight on America's Game-show, two women and one man pit their good luck charms against the wheel to see if they could come out the winner. The first Toss Up, worth $1000 dollars, went to Jay O'Neil from Glendale, Arkansas. One of his opponents was Mandy Gray, from Omaha Nebraska. The other contestant on tonight's show was, Melissa Logston, from St. Louis, Missouri.

The second Toss Up puzzle, a Thing category worth $2000, sets the first person to go for the original spin round. Jay was the quickest on the buzzer with the correct answer of, Attitude Adjustment. After the Toss Up came Jim-the announcer- to place a wonderful trip to New York City on the wheel for a hopeful contestant to win. The prize package, worth $6,410 dollars, was sponsored by Broadway.com.

Jay's first trip with the wheel was on a T.V. Title category. Jay was on a roll, buying up vowels and guessing consonants in succession, until he guessed the letter D, of which there were none. The game then passed to Mandy. Mandy got one heck of a spin, landing on the $2500 dollar game piece. She guessed the letter N, of which there were 3, and then solved the puzzle with CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

Mandy started the next puzzle in the Quotation category. Landing on the Bankrupt, Mandy passed the game on to Melissa. Melissa was doing well, even winning a ½ Car piece, before the black hole of the Bankrupt caught up with her. Jay was doing awesome, until the nasty Lose A Turn piece popped up to ruin it. Mandy's first turn landed her on the Bed, Bath and Beyond shopping spree for $1000. Then she landed on the Lose A Turn piece to give the game back to Melissa. Before the Big Bad Bankrupt bit her in the tush, she was doing fantastic. Alas, the game got sent to Jay.

The next puzzle was the prize puzzle in the What Are You Doing category, and Melissa started the wheel spinning. The Bankrupt got her early though and Jay took over. Jay was on a huge climb, buying up all the vowels, and guessing all the consonants except one. With over $10,000 going for him, Jay spent the last spin and landed on the Bankrupt all over again. Mandy was able to capitalize on Jay's loss and win herself a trip to the Dominican Republic, that was worth $7,199 dollars.

The third and final Toss Up puzzle, in the Showbiz category, worth $3000, was over quickly when Melissa solved it with, Ten-Piece Brass Band. After that, the Final Spin buzzer went off and Pat gave the wheel it's last spin. Consonants were instantly worth, $1300 for the Occupation category puzzle. Mandy scored on this last puzzle with the solve of, Television Critic.

Going into the Bonus Round, Mandy took her $17,299 dollars. The People category puzzle was given the usual R, S, T, L, N and E. Mandy came along and added, C, M, P and A. Her letters gave her all but one letter on the bottom word, but without the beginning letter on the top word, Mandy just wasn't able to come up with, Qualified Applicants in the ten seconds she was given. Even missing out on the $30,000 didn't seem to dampen the fact that she was taking home $17,299 dollars.

After the puzzle, Jim-the announcer-was able to add an trip to Alaska onto he wheel, thanks to American Cruise lines that was worth, $9000 dollars.

Guessing a C, Jenna thought she had enough to solve the puzzle, and wound up giving the game to Jake. Jake landed on a Bankrupt, his first spin out, and Symone was happy to have the wheel back. Going with a Y, Symone, unfortunately wasn't able to continue, and Jenna was finally able to solve the puzzle with Commencement And Car Speakers.

Jake was the first to spin on the new Phrase puzzle. Jake was doing fantastic, until he asked for an A. This left the game in Symone's hands, for the time being. Symone was on a roll again, getting the board down to two letters, before guessing the letter M, and passing the game on to Jenna. She guessed a C, and passed the game back to Jake. After guessing the letter D, Jake was able to solve the puzzle with, Keep Your Nose To The Grindstone.

Jake started the next spin puzzle, a Fun & Games category by landing on the Wild Card game piece. Symone was doing well, also, before she landed on the Million Dollar/Bankrupt game piece. She got the shorter end of that stick. Jenna was also nabbed by the Lose A Turn game piece. On Jake's next turn, he got stuck a second time on the Lose A Turn piece. Symone only got an H on the board before guessing an O that wasn't there. Then, Jenna landed on the Bankrupt symbol, again. Jake was finally able to solve this puzzle with, Windsurfing In The Caribbean, which won him an amazing trip to The Bahamas. This trip was worth $7, 399 dollars, which brought Jake's total to $15,799 dollars.

The last Toss Up puzzle for the night, worth $3000, was a Place puzzle. Symone took a stab at the two word answer, but it was Jenna who was able to solve it with, Main Street.

The Phrase category started with the usual R, S, T, L, N, and E letters. Then Jake added, D, C, M and A, and because he had the Wild Card, he was able to add another consonant to the mix with the letter G. Filling in a few more letters, Jake was able to solve the puzzle with, Diverse Backgrounds to add an extra $30,000 to his total making his grand total $49,699 dollars.
